You are conscious about your hygiene practices yet you fail to protect yourself from harmful germs that reside in your toilets. Your washroom has a high population of colonies and germs that are hard to see from the naked eye. You do not know that the toothbrush you just left uncovered can have a lot of germs that can easily travel inside your body. Even though you wash your brush with water before applying the paste it may carry harmful germs. For kids, it’s even more dangerous. So, here is a list of practices that you need to avoid doing straight away to protect yourself from getting attacked.
Shut The Lid While Flushing
Your toilet seat has the most number of germs and fumes and gases contained in it. When you flush it without closing the lid you tend to avoid hundreds of mini particles out in your environment. These particles or bacteria stay alive for hours and they settle on different accessories, stuff and even your cheap bathrobes, you keep around. The germs may attract your towel or soap that you leave uncovered. As per the fact, the bacteria coming out of the toilet seat can travel six feet in the washroom. Now imagine if your washroom is not even six feet long or if the exit door is close by what will happen to the rest of your rooms.
Keep Your Towels, Brushes and Other Accessories Covered
Among the many unhygienic practices, leaving your stuff uncovered tops the list. Most people are not aware of the damage they are doing to themselves and to their family. Many health issues originate from you leaving your washroom unhygienic. You have to be careful in keeping your stuff in there. As you have read earlier that bacteria are present all the time because after every hour someone of your family is using the bathroom, the toilet gets flushed continuously inviting many germs in the place. So, put your brushes inside the cabinet or shelf if you have and it’s better to hang the towel outside of your toilet or maybe into the shower area.
Do Not Carry Your Cellphone
The moment when you get the nature’s call you grab your cellphone and head towards your bathroom. Most people have a habit of using their phones inside the washroom not knowing what damage it can cost to their health. Your cellphone is more unhygienic than anything you carry along. It has equally bacteria as those present on your toilet seat. Why? Because you use it without washing your hands. Even inside the toilet, you flush with the same hand in which you are holding your cellphone. You wash your hands but never wipe your phone. The bacteria live on your phone set and travel everywhere.
Avoid Using Soaps
It’s best if you use liquid hand wash other than soaps. Soaps are usually uncovered. The bar remains there open to welcome any bacteria; however, if you opt for having a hand wash container, the liquid is secured inside the jar. The handwash remains safe from any germs. Moreover, after using the bathroom your hands come in direct contact with the soap, this leaves the germs on it.
